One definition is that a trillion means "a million, million, million" - the other is that it means just "a million million!"
In Britain:
A million used to be a million, which is | 6 noughts, or | 1,000,000 |
A billion used to be a million million. which is | 12 noughts, or | 1,000,000,000,000 |
A trillion used to be a million, million, million which is | 18 noughts, or | 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 |
However, In America:
A million is a million which is | 6 noughts, or | 1,000,000 |
A billion is a thousand million which is | 9 noughts or | 1,000,000,000 |
A trillion is a million, million which is | 12 noughts, or | 1,000,000,000,000 |
So, watch out when using a trillion. Is it a million, million, million or is it just a million million?
